The citizen project echoes the rap theater piece SANGA, written by Clio Van de Walle in 2020. Through an audio journey of unpublished texts, songs and slams, La Compagnie Indigo bears witness to the forced marriage of children all over the world, a theme which remains a taboo subject, even in France today in the 21st century. The texts were selected following a call for rap texts, spam and poetry on the theme of forced marriage. With the participation of “La Maison des Femmes” of Saint Denis, directed by Ghada Hatem and “Voix de Femmes, SOS Forced Marriage”. The piece is archived in the egalithèque of the Center Hubertine Auclert. Children send their own message of empathy, animal protection and active attitude towards the protection of stray animals. Created by Clio Van de Walle with the help of volunteers from the "H Prostasia toon zoon" association in Chania and whose protagonist is the stray dog Lorenzo! This poetic sound action was published in the daily newspaper of Chania and sent to the city's politicians and municipal officials. Artists Rebecca Pelayo and Clio Van de Walle invited over 60 people from around the world to make their voices heard and talk about their connection to this place. By creating a sound compilation in five languages as well as a visual work, they pay a vibrant tribute—oscillating between love, sadness and anger—to this place so important to the island’s cultural and social life.

Refusing to submit, the little girl has only one obsession: rapping. Through an initiatory journey, Sanga makes his way and encounters the founding characters of his life. Written like a rap flow that never stops, the piece propels us in turn to the land of the Sun, symbol of a universal, violent and warm Orient, and to the land of Uncle Teddy, an idealized West with its share of disappointments. The theme of the play, the forced marriage of young girls, is very topical. To account for this absurdity,Sanga immerses us in an offbeat and poetic universe, mixing intrinsically to the text of the piece a rap musical libretto and choreographic scores. “Sanga” is a finalist of the Plateaux de Chelles in January 2020, and favorite of Nicolas Lormeau from La Comédie Française. 40 minutes of the play will be staged by Clio Van de Walle in September 2021 as part of the Théâtre Gérard Philippe companionships.
